Many events throughout the year are sponsored by the Garden Plain Chamber. Some of these events include the Easter Egg Hunt and Community-Wide Garage Sale offered in the spring. Summertime offers, a Movie in the Park Night and for Fall Homecoming, the Chamber sponsors the pep rally meal. They also offer the Chili Cook-off at the Arts & Craft Fair each winter. During the Christmas season, it's always a lot of fun to guess where the life-sized Elf on the Shelf will be next. The largest event of the year is the Annual Independence Day Celebration held on the 4th of July. This is fun for all ages. The Chamber also plays a huge part in the community by giving back. Some examples are:- Assisting with the purchase of new playground equipment for City Park- Sponsoring a day for the GPHS students and staff for being named a Blue Ribbon School- Purchasing Welcome Sign and Banners for Main Street- Landscaping along Main Street-Purchasing new benches for Main Street
